Cheryl Pollak's career has taken her in many directions in the thirty years she has been in the industry.
Cheryl began her career as an actress but quickly realized that she was more interested in what everyone was doing behind the camera. Her first production was a short film, The Ticket, directed by Richard Murphy and she was hooked. Since then she has produced, directed, written scripts, post supervised, hosted & produced live radio. She can shoot, cut dialogue and do digital photo restorations.
Today she is an award-winning producer and director. Her credits include producing and directing narrative film, documentary television, animated children’s series, commercials, behind the scenes featurettes and PSAs. She is experienced working with animals, microbudet shoots and filming live events with multiple crews.
Pollak also developed a pilot program to teach senior citizens the art of documentary filmmaking and taught the group, whose ages ranged from 64 to 88. The students wrote, shot and edited their own films. She considers it one of the most rewarding projects she has done.
Currently, Cheryl is producing the Audiosyncrasy Podcast. Audiosyncrasy tells the story of found photographs, telling stories through investigation, using audio to see. She is also in research phase of a documentary.
